Postdoc Position in US at Plant Disease Ecology and Evolution 2024

Postdoc Position in US at Plant Disease Ecology and Evolution 2024 is open now. The Flory and Goss labs at the University of Florida (UF) are looking for postdoctoral research associates to join a project studying how invasive plants affect the spread of diseases across ecosystems and crop diseases. This project, supported by USDA-NSF-NIH, focuses on Bipolaris Gigantea, a fungal disease found on grasses like industrial hemp. The research examines how this pathogen spreads among different plants and ecosystems and evolves on new hosts. It also aims to create models for disease spread in natural and agricultural systems.

Postdocs will collaborate with various experts from different universities and enjoy UF’s vibrant research community in ecology, invasion science, and genomics. UF offers extensive programs in agricultural sciences, serving a large student body and engaging in diverse research endeavors. The School of Natural Resources and Environment at UF/IFAS is an interdisciplinary unit fostering collaboration across multiple disciplines. With around 4,500 employees, UF/IFAS is a leading institution in agricultural research and education. The University of Florida promotes diversity and offers a rich cultural and recreational environment in Gainesville.
