Benefits of Commonwealth Fellowship in UK 2024

  • In exceptional cases, a peripatetic living allowance may be payable, depending on the program arranged.
    • If a Fellow declares a disability, a full assessment of needs and eligibility for additional financial support will be offered by the CSC.
    • Round-trip airfare tickets will be provided from the candidate’s home country to the United Kingdom.
    • An arrival allowance of up to £1156.60 will be provided, including funds for warm clothing.
    • A flat rate contribution of £1000 will be made to the Host organisation to cover administration and support costs.
    • A monthly stipend (living allowance) of £2,057 will be paid, or £2,523 for those based in the London metropolitan area.
    • The standard visa application fee will be reimbursed.
    • Additional fees can be agreed for costs associated with attending short courses/conferences and travel to visit other UK organisations, up to a maximum of:
    • £2,000 for awards under two months
    • £3,000 for awards of three months

Eligibility Criteria for Commonwealth Fellowship in UK 2024

  • You must be a permanent resident of the eligible country.
    • You must not be currently studying in the UK (either coursework or research).
    • You must be a national of an eligible Commonwealth country, a refugee, or a British Protected Person.
    • Academics can apply, but only to undertake programs of academic management, not research or courses related to their research subject.
    • You must have at least five years of full-time (or part-time equivalent) work experience in a profession related to the fellowship subject.
    • You must be in employment at the time of application and be committed to returning to your job upon completion of the fellowship.
    • You must not have been selected for this Fellowship in the previous five years.
    • Voluntary work experience will not be considered.
    • You must be available to start your fellowship on the prescribed start date.

  • Your application must include at least two references, including one from your current employer; otherwise, it will be considered ineligible.
  • After the application closing date, your application and references will be shared with the Host organization you have applied to for the fellowship.
  • The Host organization will review your application and submit a list of selected candidates to the Commission.
