Research Assistant Job in Germany at University of Marburg 2024 is open now. The University of Marburg, established in 1527, hosts around 22,000 students and offers diverse study programs. One of its research groups, the Centre for Synthetic Microbiology (SYNMIKRO), is seeking a full-time Research Assistant (postdoctoral researcher) for the Research Training Group “Nucleotide Metabolism in Microbes” (RTG 2937), led by Professor Dr. Peter Graumann. This position, available from February 1st, 2024, until January 31, 2028, has the potential for extension based on a successful evaluation. It falls under salary group E13 of the State of Hesse’s collective labour agreement.

The Research Training Group “Nucleotide Metabolism in Microbes,” funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), explores nucleotide-related aspects within microbial species, focusing on nucleic acid building blocks (nucleotides) in DNA and RNA. Led by Prof. Dr. Peter Graumann, this specific position contributes to the project “Subcellular Dynamics of mRNA and Enzymes Involved in Nucleotide Synthesis and Degradation.” The research emphasizes understanding bacterial cell structures and RNA degradation regulation.

Women are actively encourage to apply and give preference to underrepresented female applicants with equal qualifications.
