Eligibility Criteria for the University of Tasmania Scholarship 2025

  • Applicants from all countries are eligible. 
  • Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English. 
  • Applicants must be enrolling in a full-time research Master’s or Doctoral degree in 2024. 
  • Applicants must have four years of tertiary education and at least an upper second-class Honours degree or equivalent. 
  • Applicants cannot receive any other equivalent award or salary if it exceeds 75% of the base RTP stipend rate. 
  • Applicants’ income unrelated to their research degree, such as employment earnings, will not be considered. 
  • Applicants with a higher degree or over six months of Postgraduate Research Award experience are eligible but not prioritized. 

Duration of the Program

  • Master’s: 2 years, with no extension available.  
  • PhD: 3.5 years, with no possibility of extension, shorter than the 4-year maximum candidature period.
