What Are The Requirements For Applying For Sakura Exchange Program?

The Sakura Science Exchange Program in Japan has the following qualifying requirements:

  • It is possible to apply for the Sakura programme from any country or location.
  • It is not allowed to submit an application on your own.
    • Applicants may be undergraduates, graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, or high school pupils.
  • Applicants may also be faculty members.
    • Applicants must be employed by a public institution in the area of science or technology. At the time of application, they must be under the age of 40.
    • The candidate must be visiting Japan for the first time in order to be eligible for the Sakura Exchange Program.
  • Members of the organisation are disqualified if they were members when they applied, but are no longer members when their term of service begins.
